Going after a competitive role at a big-name company?

Scenario · 02

The resume is your foot in the door.It is also the only part you control.

Even with a referral, the resume still has to convince two readers who didn’t write it.

Pass the 5-second scan.

Recruiters spend 5–8 seconds before they read on or move to the next resume. A tailored resume makes the match obvious instantly.

Speak the recruiter’s language.

Mirrors the words and priorities from the job description, so the person scanning sees the fit in seconds.

Signal you’re serious.

A tailored resume tells the recruiter this isn’t a mass-apply. You read the posting. You thought about the fit.

A dedicated first section for the match.

A key qualifications section shows exactly how you match this specific role — before the recruiter even needs to scroll. The fit is right there, on page one.

Built by people who know what recruiters actually look for.

While building tools for recruiters, we interviewed 23 of them about how they actually screen: in-house recruiters at companies seeing 200+ applicants per opening, doing it every day. We learned what makes them stop on a resume, and what makes them skip it in seconds.

Then we built a resume format around what we found — and blind-tested it: 20 recruiters screened a realistic pile that secretly included it, without knowing which resume was ours. Among six equally-qualified candidates, ours was shortlisted the most, while the template-built resumes, carrying the same qualifications scattered across the page, did far worse. It puts what recruiters look for on the first page, using only what you actually did — tailored, never fabricated.
