How hiring actually works, from the inside
We run original, primary research with the people on the other side of the wall: the recruiters who actually open (or don’t open) your resume. No scraping, no surveys of candidate fears. Here’s what they told us.
Study 02 · Blind format test
Best Resume Format: A Blind Test With 20 Recruiters
A blind experiment: we hid six equally-qualified candidates in a realistic pile and asked 20 recruiters to screen it, without telling them any of the resumes were ours. The same qualifications were shortlisted 12 times out of 13 in one format, and 3 times in another. The candidate with the best numbers on paper finished last.
Study 01 · Recruiter interviews
How Recruiters Actually Screen When Hundreds Apply
We interviewed 43 recruiters, one hour each, most of whom screen jobs where hundreds of people apply, and mapped what really happens to your resume after you hit submit: a ten-stage funnel where most resumes are never opened by a person at all.
