Sample resumes

One resume per career level, each written with Specific Resume and tailored to one job posting. The people are fictional, and the employers are real companies used as examples.

Three customer service resumes: an entry level representative in direct to consumer home goods, a mid level representative in health benefits administration and a senior escalation owner in fintech. Each one is tailored to one job posting. Read them here, or download any of them as a PDF.

All three follow the same layout. Key qualifications come first, so a recruiter can tick them off against the posting, then the work history, with the most detail on the latest job. In our blind test with 20 recruiters, this layout was shortlisted in 12 of 13 sessions, against 3 for a two-column template. Why this format works explains the reasoning. The people and their results are invented.

Entry-level Customer Service resume

You will not have much paid support work yet, so give class projects and campus roles real space. For each one, name the channel and tools, what you wrote or built, who it served, and what got faster or clearer.

Mid-level Customer Service resume

Lead with what you own in your current queue, the policies you work under, and the service metrics you can defend. Drop school projects, and cut education down to one line.

Senior Customer Service resume

Lead with what you run, escalations, playbooks, cross team fixes, and the people you coach and calibrate. Keep the most detail on your latest roles, and shrink older jobs to a line or two.

Make one for your own posting

Each resume here was written for one posting, and yours should be too. The checklist from our blind test covers what to check before you send it.
